In a coordinated effort to combat misinformation and promote active citizenship, De Dynamic Builders Progressive Initiative (DDBPI) recently hosted a series of Civic Town Halls across 12 Nigerian states. The events brought together local stakeholders, civil society representatives, youth leaders, and traditional institutions to discuss key governance issues ahead of upcoming elections.
Topics ranged from understanding the electoral process, citizen rights and responsibilities, to strategies for peaceful engagement in political discourse. The program also featured simplified civic education materials in local languages to promote grassroots inclusion.
“We believe democracy thrives when citizens are informed and confident to participate,” said the Director of Community Mobilization, DDBPI. “These forums are not just about voting — they’re about long-term civic literacy.”
DDBPI intends to scale the initiative to all 36 states by the next electoral cycle, in partnership with local advocacy networks and INEC representatives.
